Wrexham perspectives

After failing to beat Cambridge & Northampton (3 times) this season, we then proceed to give Wrexham the lead after just one minute.

Once again the balance of the side looked wrong as we started with Griffiths out on the left wing with Langley on the right. Griffiths has now had about 6 games or so in this position but has done little to suggest he should hold on to it.

Although Langley had a good game he would be more effective in the centre of midfield. It seems odd to me that we had Griffiths on the wing with Connolly through the middle when surely they would perform better if they switched positions? The matter is irrelevant now anyway as Connolly became the latest player to suffer knee ligament damage ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

From what I remember of their goal it appeared that Digby may have been blinded by the sun as Thomas' free-kick flew in.

Langley is already looking a cut above most players in this Division & he's not even back to his best yet. Gallen was due a goal & took it well with a good header. On the whole we did deserve the 3 points but the injury picked up by Connolly could prove costly.

A word of support for Marcus Bignot as well who had a decent game despite the fact that he gets continuously moved all over the place - today he was back at left-back.

Even though we did leave it late it was a much needed 3-points - our first in 6 games - and just about keeps us in sight of the play-offs.
