Youngsters Joe Oastler, Lee Brown, Elliott Cox, Romone Rose and Josh Parker have also left the Championship winning side.

Meanwhile, Max Ehmer has signed a new one-year extension at Loftus Road.

Speaking about the clear-out to the club website, R's boss Warnock said: "There are some really good lads with good quality among the eight we've released.

I'm delighted I have signed this new deal and hopefully I can be in and around the first team squad next year

"This could be just what they need to go on and kick-start their careers."

However young midfielder Ehmer has been rewarded for his good performances whilst on loan at Yeovil Town last season.

The 19-year-old German has signed an extension which will keep him at the club until 2013.

Warnock added: "Max has made great progress over the last few months. He had a very productive spell at Yeovil and the feedback we received was very promising.

"The experience he gained there will stand him in good stead to really push on over the next 12 months or so."

The Frankfurt-born youngster added: "I'm delighted I have signed this new deal and hopefully I can be in and around the first team squad next year."
