Gravesend and Northfleet manager Andy Ford has snapped up QPR left sided midfielder Ben Walshe on a one-month loan.

Walshe returned in the rangers reserve team game against Gillingham to put in an impressive performance and the move will benefit all parties concerned.

The 20 year-old has struggled to hold down a first team place or make an impact since signing professional forms. Walshe however did break into the team last term in mid-February only to see a knee injury thwart his efforts an has slipped down the pecking order behind Martin Rowlands, Tommy Williams and new signing Kevin McLeod.

Loftus Road boss Ian Holloway hopes the move will see Walshe’s fitness increase while experiencing regular first team football at the Conference outfit who prop up the bottom of the table after only one win this season.

Walshe’s move will also see him hooking up with former rangers’ youngster Patrick Gradley who was released from the R’s in the summer and signed with the Stonebridge Road club recently.
