Torquay were unable to build on Tuesday's 3-1 friendly win over Plymouth as they lost by the same margin to QPR on Friday.Rangers took the lead after only 10 minutes when Heidar Helguson headed in a Leon Clarke cross.

The Gulls improved after the break and were rewarded with an equaliser from central defender Chris Robertson.

But the Championship side quickly re-took control with further goals from Josh Parker and Hogan Ephraim.

The Gulls next pre-season friendly will see them take on local rivals Bristol City at Plainmoor next Wednesday, 21 July.
