Kevin Gallen and Martin Rowlands' goals were enough for QPR to earn their first win in five matches and move them up to 3rd in the table.
Rangers were made to work hard in the second half after establishing a two-goal lead in the first half and came under fierce pressure to hold on and grab the three points.
Sammy McIlroy remains without a home win in charge of County at Edgerly Park but Rangers won't mind. A fantastic first half display was enough.
Marc Bircham was forced to limp out of action after on 4 minutes of play and Martin Rowlands also picked up a slight injury. With Dagenham on Tuesday and Grimsby on Saturday, both in cup competitions, Rangers manager Ian Holloway will be keen for his side to build on this victory.
It was an all-round display and deserved victory.
Gallen notched his 3rd for the season with Rowlands his 6th. An impressive total for a player who has doubled as a right-back and left midfielder this season.
