Return of the Vine, but no sign of a new striker

A magnificent coincidence i think not, although the news that Rowan Vine has been given the all clear to resume training on a day that many expected a new striker at Loftus Road, is nonetheless a huge boost to the club's promotion credentials.

Exactly how far away he is from first-team contention is unclear, but the sooner the better in terms of pushing for the play-offs. If there has been one thing more than any other, that the Super Hoops have missed this season, then it's without doubt a bit of intuition and creativity in attack.

If all things go well and he is back within the next few weeks, then everyone connected with the club will be hoping that he can replicate some of the form that he showed in a blue and white shirt last season.

Elsewhere in the Championship, promotion rivals Cardiff City have added Michael Chopra to their squad, on-loan for the remainder of the season, while former Arsenal forward Arturo Lupoli has joined Sheffield United on similar terms from Fiorentina.
