Reserves victorious over Wycombe as Pacquette strikes winner

Last updated : 26 November 2003 By Mark O' Haire
Heavy rain throughout the night made this reserve team clash a very scrappy afair in which Richard Pacquette scored the only goal of the game.
Rangers deserved the victory in which they dominated in large chunks of the game. It wasn't pretty but Pacquette's goal was the best piece of action in the first half.
He turned his marker inside out before firing a low drive accross the keeper and into the net. Pacquette looked to ooze confidence as they game went on and looked sharp throughout.
Warren Barton played in centre midfield and played well in his comeback from injury, Wes Daly also had a strong game at right-back as did two of the U-17 youngsters in defence: John Fletcher and Ryan Johnson.
Nick Culkin made a fine save, a Wycombe attacker went one-on-one with him and he stood up well to make a fine block.
15 year-old golden boy Scott Donnelly came on as a sub for the final 20 minutes but failed to make an impact, nethertheless it was another good step on the road to becoming a professional.
A fine victory again for the R's reserves.
