The 22-year-old was appearing at the Old Bailey today for a bail hearing after spending last night in custody but he has the backing of the club.

Chief executive David Davies said: "We're giving as much support as possible to the player and his family." Manager Ian Holloway has acted quickly to replace Forbes by signing Marcus Bignott from Rushden in time for tomorrow's visit of Luton.

The 29-year-old was at Boundary Park yesterday preparing to sign for Oldham when a last-minute call from Holloway changed his mind. Bignott then signed a faxed copy of his contract just before the 5pm transfer deadline.

He will play at right-back against Luton and Gareth Ainsworth is in contention for a place on the bench after coming through a reserve game on Wednesday.
