IAN HOLLOWAY reflected on a ‘pulsating’ County Ground encounter and then bemoaned QPR’s failure to land Sam Parkin during his schoolboy days.

Holloway, pictured left, said: “I was very disappointed with our first-half performance.

“Full credit to Swindon but we went from bad decisions. It wasn’t just the two I brought off at half-time who were at fault, it was all of them. I might have changed all 11 of them if the referee had allowed me too.

“At least we showed some character in the second-half and played some very good stuff. The question remains, where were we in the first half though?”

Holloway said goalkeeper Chris Day had been at fault for Sam Parkin’s goal.

He said: “Chris knew it wasn’t the right decision to come for the ball and that’s why he hesitated. If he had been on his line, would Parkin have scored?”

On the subject of Town, Holloway believes Andy King’s men can achieve success this season fuelled by Parkin’s goals.

He said: “Swindon were top of the league at the start of the season and you can see why. In Parkin they have someone who is developing into a very, very good player.“

“He’s a QPR fan I understand. How did we miss him? Still, fair play to Andy King for bringing him to Swindon.”
