New blow for Cook

Lee Cook's injury jinx has struck again after the QPR winger was ruled out for the opening two months of the new season. The 27-year-old has suffered a succession of knee problems in recent years and missed much of last season following keyhole surgery. Cook has not suffered a recurrence of the injury but has been told he needs to strengthen the muscles in the knee or risk breaking down again. "We're disappointed for the lad," said Rangers manager Neil Warnock. "It appears he wasn't given the right advice regarding his rehabilitation and he could be out for a couple of months now. "He doesn't require another operation but he needs to rest up for quite a significant period of time."
