Neil Warnock returns to QPR in advisory capacity

The 66-year-old, who was in charge at Loftus Road between March 2010 and January 2012 and guided Rangers to promotion to the Premier League, will offer advice and assistance to first-team manager Chris Ramsey and work under director of football Les Ferdinand.

Warnock will officially begin his part-time role on Sunday.

He told the club's official website, qpr.co.uk: "It's an honour to be back here as part of Chris' managerial team and at this stage of my career, it's a perfect role for me to come into.

"Full-time management doesn't interest me any more but if I can help Chris and QPR by acting as a sounding board, then that's great.

"When I look at the solid start to the season QPR have made, coupled with the squad we've got at our disposal, I think there's a real opportunity to climb the table and push on."

Ramsey welcomed the opportunity to utilise Warnock's experience and expertise.

"H e's got too much to offer for us to waste an opportunity to tap into his knowledge," he said

"Adding someone to the backroom team has been on my mind for some time and I know Neil well

To get him in at this stage of the season, when the games come thick and fast, is perfect timing for us and a fantastic opportunity for us to take advantage of his unparalleled Championship experience."
