City played from the 28th minute with 10 men after Darren Purse's straight red card. A decision that seemed a tad harsh. It took Rangers until the 80th minute though to break through. Mahon heading in Peter Ramage's deep cross.

It got worse for Cardiff as they lost Miguel Comminges for two yellow cards in as many minutes.

Rangers are now upto 7th place, level on points with Cardiff who are 6th.

Now the squad head to Old Trafford to face Man Utd.
