Jim Magilton is supposedly a keen admirer of Rose, who has spent the last two seasons at White Hart Lane following a £1 million move from Leeds United in 2007. It is thought that Rose, who had a successful loan period at Watford last term, will provide the Rangers boss with a capable interim replacement for injured winger Lee Cook.

Cook, who struggled with injury last season, has recently gone under the knife to fix a lingering knee problem which has hampered the 26 year old since his switch from London rivals Fulham last August. It is estimated that Cook will be out until October at the earliest; news which has prompted Magilton to secure a quick replacement in time for pre-season.

Rose, who turns 19 next month, is a skillfull winger who has previously impressed in the Tottenham Reserve team, earning him one call up to the first team squad under Harry Redknapp.
