Luton v Q.P.R.

Last updated : 11 November 2006 By

The Hatters' appeal against the former Burnley player's sending-off at Preston last weekend was unsuccessful, meaning he must serve a one-match suspension.

To make matters worse for Mike Newell, top-scorer Rowan Vine could also miss the game having not trained this week after picking up a knock at Preston.

Midfielder Lewis Emanuel is back after a knee injury, but forward Sam Parkin is still out and will undergo surgery on his troublesome ankle.

Defenders Chris Coyne and Paul Underwood are close to a return to full training but cannot be considered yet, while young forward Calvin Andrew (knee) is a long-term injury casualty.

Steve Lomas will miss QPR's trip to Kenilworth Road due to suspension.

The former West Ham midfielder serves a one game back after picking up his fifth booking of the season in last weekend's 4-2 win over Crystal Palace.

Lomas is likely to be replaced in central midfield by Marc Bircham, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, although Martin Rowlands is also in contention after shaking off a knock.

Young forward Ray Jones could also return to the team following a hip problem, although manager John Gregory could choose to stick with the strike pairing of Dexter Blackstock and Kevin Gallen.

Defender Pat Kanyuka (hamstring) is likely to miss out along with forward Paul Furlong, who is still building match fitness following a thigh injury.
