Rangers were forced to come from two goals down and Holloway said: "We had a different colour kit on and maybe we didn't recognise that was what we had to pass to.
"I don't make excuses but you have to laugh at yourself sometimes and we were certainly laughable in the first half.
"We got our fingers burnt but our efforts in the second period almost gained the win we deserved.
"We showed all sorts of character to come back from a two goal half-time deficit, I honestly believe in my players but we've got to learn to win games no matter what."
