Kick in teeth works wonders for Adel - Warnock

Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock believes the club are set to benefit from a resurgent Adel Taarabt after the Moroccan playmaker was given a "kick in the teeth" by his team-mates.

Taarabt rose from the bench to help Rangers mount a second-half comeback against Sunderland on Wednesday before the Black Cats eventually scored a late winner for a 3-2 victory.

The 22-year-old Moroccan -- the star of QPR's drive for promotion last year -- has struggled to repeat his form in the top-flight as the west London side have drifted towards the foot of the table.

However Warnock revealed that words of advice from senior QPR players Shaun Derry and Joey Barton had helped to get Taarabt's season back on track.

"Adel has trained really well. The lads have got him back in the fold. They have told him why they wanted to kick him in the teeth and he has responded the right way," Warnock said.

"All the lads respected what he did (against Sunderland). Adel did well against Manchester United when he came on," Warnock added.
