Jackett looks forward

QPR Assistant Manager Kenny Jackett is looking forward to the long trip up to Hartlepool this weekend.

Rangers may be unbeaten at home in the league this season, but the away form, according to Jackett, has not been good enough.

Nevertheless, he sees this game as an opportunity to put things right.

Speaking to QPR WORLD he said: “We’ve got to keep our shape and close the opposition down, once we can do that we can play a bit ourselves.”

Jackett has been buoyed by the last two home performances which brought a win over Port Vale and a draw against Oldham.

“The quality of our passing has stepped up a gear over the last few games and we hope to continue that.”

Worryingly though, Rangers currently do not have the services of a goalkeeper to call upon and Jackett admits it is a concern.

“It’s been a worry all week, it is our top priority. But injuries effect everyone at some stage during the season. We are having a few now, we’re confident that with the players we have in our squad that we can overcome them.”

Rangers travel north on Friday morning and Jackett does not mind the overnight stays that accompany the long journeys.

“We got some long trips left, Plymouth, Sheffield Wednesday and Tranmere. But, we have been a resilient bunch so far and we must make sure we continue in that mould.”
