Happy Camp

Rangers loan signing Lee Camp was delighted to get off to a winning start at Hartlepool and is looking forward to his Loftus Road debut against Wrexham.

The 19-year old goalkeeper may have been an 11th hour signing, but he showed no signs of being overwhelmed by his whirlwind week with a composed performance for the Superhoops.

He pulled off a couple of excellent first half stops and was then unlucky to concede late-on having pulled off a brilliant double save.

Nevertheless, as he told QPR World, he is relieved to have got his first game out of the way.

He said: "It was a good experience - I really enjoyed it. But I'm glad my debut's over now. I met the boys at 11am on Friday and there wasn't much time to think - I just had to get on with it."

And get on with it he did, producing a fine display that gave the defenders in front of him little to worry about.

Lee admitted that he was helped enormously by the back four and that they gave him the reassurance he needed to settle his nerves.

He said: "The players were great. I felt as if the lads had confidence in me and trusted me to make the right decisions.

"But it's always nice when you've got two good centre backs like Clarky and big Arthur to protect you."

And now Lee's focus turns to the Wrexham game and his home debut at Loftus Road.

The youngster is looking forward to it and knows that after the Red Dragons' thrashing on Saturday they will be keen to put the record straight.

He said: "It'll be a tough game. They'll be looking for a reaction after Saturday, but it's my job to keep them out and make sure they don't react."

Camp's place in the team is assured and on the back of such an impressive performance at Hartlepool, Rangers remaining 10 starters look certain to keep their places in an unchanged line up.

The only likely decision for Ian Holloway will be who to partner Kevin Gallen with up front. But following Paul Furlong's hugely impressive performance at the weekend, he is likely to get the nod over Tony Thorpe.
