The 18-year-old has progressed through the club's centre of excellence and has scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Under-18s this season.
Head of youth development Steve Gallen told the club's official website: "Michael is a good player. He's got good awareness, a bit of craft, he scores goals and he has been excellent for us this season.
"He has got a fantastic left foot and if he keeps working hard he might find himself in and around the first team at some stage."
