"We sent Fitz for a scan and although the damage isn't as bad we first feared, he's set for a spell on the sidelines," R's head physio Paul Hunter told the club's official website.
"Obviously we will continue to monitor the situation over the next few weeks.
"Hopefully have him back in contention sooner rather than later."
