Clarke Carlisle was today recognised for his fightback from alcohol addiction when he was named Second Division player of the month for November.

The QPR defender booked into Tony Adams's Sporting Chance clinic to treat his drink problems last September, but he has since made a return to the first team.

It was a welcome double for table toppers Rangers as Ian Holloway earlier collected the gong for manager of the month.
