Swindon Town 0 QPR 1

You have to go back nearly five years to when QPR last won four on the trot, coming at the start of the 1997/98 season. To stand any chance of making the play-offs, we need to extend the present run to six on the trot, and hope Huddersfield pick up less then two points from their last three games, and Bristol City less than four from two.

It is only the third time in our history we've reached 70 points or more, and it would be enough to currently put us joint sixth in both Divisions 1 and 3. Sadly, even another six points probably won't be enough to break the top 6 in Division 2 this season, but while there's still a glimmer of hope, we mustn't stop believing.

As for the game, it was a pretty awful spectacle. Not for the first time this season, the wind completely ruined things, making it so much harder for either team to string a decent move together. Added to the very dull atmosphere, it felt almost like a friendly match — I won't say pointless end-of-season mid-table clash, but it almost could have been.

If it had, I doubt QPR would have been watched by 2,500+ travelling supporters. Once again, Swindon was populated everywhere by QPR fans, and after sitting through 80 minutes of boredom, finally got their reward with the only goal of the game from Jerome Thomas.

If was a great goal from the future England international (quote Ian Holloway), beating a couple of men before chipping the ‘keeper, with the ball just making the net via the back post.

Of his three games to date, this was the quietest yet from Thomas, but he's already proved he can win a game on his own. His value to QPR next season will be enormous — if we can get him on loan.

Perhaps Mr Wenger may be more inclined if he were playing one division higher...
