QPR 1 Bournemouth 1

OK, we didn't play well, in fact we were pretty appalling at times, but you have to give credit to Bournemouth for that. They gave us not an inch of space, at least not compared to Bury and to an extent, Stoke City. They're battling for their Second Division status, and it showed. Unfortunately, we didn't have the guile to break them down.

We had the players to do so — Connolly and Langley should have come on at half-time. When they did eventually arrive on the scene, it made no sense in bringing off Murphy and Doudou respectively. Murphy was looking our only threat down the left with Griffiths an unpredictable and frustrating outlet ahead of him, whilst Doudou is our best player when there isn't much room to play in. He wasn't having a great game, but he is at least capable of conjuring something up out of the blue.

If we had little shape before the substitutions, afterwards the situation became worse. Half the side were played out of position (why put Connolly up front and keep Griffiths on the wing?), so it was little wonder we struggled to make an impact.

We waited all game for something positive to happen (apart from Palmer's goal of course), but it just didn't happen. We struggled to put two passes together all night, and the only time we put any pressure on the Bournemouth goal was in injury time, by which time Bournemouth had earned their point — but they really deserved all three.
