UniBond Premier Division Vauxhall Motors pulled off an FA Cup first round shock as they won 4-3 on penalties at QPR, after the replay had ended 1-1 after 120 minutes at Loftus Road.

Rangers forced a couple of early saves from visiting keeper Andy Ralph, before Andy Thomson gave the home side the lead after 18 minutes.

The striker latched onto a pass from Gino Padula and lofted the ball over Ralph to set Rangers seemingly on their way.

However, the lead lasted just four minutes, as Phil Brazier smashed the ball home form Terry FearnsÂ’ pass inside the Rangers area.

Fearns almost gave Vauxhall the lead, before Tommy Williams headed over from close range for the second division outfit.

Richard Langley almost missed a couple of opportunities, before Fraser Digby denied Fearns with a superb save right on half time.

The second half was even more tense, with chances at a premium for both sides, before Ralph made a superb late finger-tip save to deny Thomson a certain winner.

Extra time failed to separate the two teams, with Thomson going closest with a header that came back off the woodwork in the first period.

With penalties to decide the outcome, Vauxhall scored all four of their spot-kicks and with Ralph saving from Paul Furlong and Karl Connolly missing the target, Rangers slipped to an embarrassing Cup upset
