After the poor show at Huddersfield, it was surely time for changes, but no. The only change was Doudou in for Murphy and the tired old tactics. Still no Langley or Connolly, both players kicking their heals on the bench.

We started well though, with Thomson missing our two best chances of the half in the opening 10 minutes. A month ago, he'd have buried them both but all the talk of his future combined with a back problem, is doing him no favours at all. He's not even the division's top scorer anymore, with Zamora having taken over in recent weeks.

Both chances proved to be our best of the game. We played some nice stuff at times, but failed to penetrate where it mattered most. As the match wore on, even our passing deteriorated as Cambridge began to come into the game more, perhaps realising they could do more than just come for a point.

In the end, Digby — not for the first time — kept us in it. I know his kicking isn't the best, but I can't remember being so far into a season without at least one goal conceded due to a blatant error by the ‘keeper. Last season there was just too many to recall.

The double substitution of Connolly and Pacquette for Thomson and Gallen riled the crowd no end, but in truth they were contributing naff all. All strikers need chances created for them though, and this should have been addressed sooner.

Back to the drawing board for Mr Holloway…
