Port Vale 1 QPR 0

With no Peacock, Connolly, Forbes or Thomson on top of the other casualties, the injuries have all come at the wrong time (not that there ever is a right time). To have a realistic hope of making the play-offs now, we need as strong a first team as possible — what we had at Port Vale simply isn't good enough.

We could have performed a lot worse though. After a dismal opening half, livened up only by Bridge-Wilkinson's excellent 18th minute goal, the second half belonged to us. Perry and Griffiths unsurprisingly failed to reappear in the second half after contributing ziltch down the wings, but whilst the game was ours possession wise, Port Vale always looked more likely to score.

Neither team were helped on the day with our choice of away kit. We've always played in blue and white at Vale, and the change to black, silver and white was a tad confusing at times. Thank god this kit is getting the boot for next season, it sucks.

If we don't win against Wigan on Tuesday we may as well forget about the play-offs for good. But whilst we've still got a reasonable shout, we should continue to give the team 100% support. Six points from the next two home games will put us right back up there, so come on you R's…
