Not impressed and rightly so
If the travelling support were not impressed, that was nothing compared to Ian Holloway: "That was probably our worst performance of the season. You have to be winners to get anywhere but it looked more like a testimonial game" he said.

"If the players think they can get away with it, then they don't know me. It was pathetic, garbage and I don't want to see anything like it again - ever."

Strong words from a manager who simply won't accept anything less than 100% from his players. Oldham is quite a trek at the best of times – any hopes of seeing off the season in style never looked like materialising.

The only goal of the game came after 10 minutes when Julien Baudet's shot squirmed past Evans desperate dive. Oldham have a reputation of scoring a lot and conceding a lot – perhaps we were going to see out the season with a flurry of goals, but another was never to arrive.

Our attempts to get back in the game were half-hearted, and despite a roasting from Holloway at half time, there was no change after the break. All three subs were used, and whilst Murphy gave his all as usual, the other players failed to respond in the same way. We created hardly any memorable chances, and in the end Oldham held out quite comfortably, although they should have made the game safe much earlier.
