Swansea's McLeod bid accepted

A formal offer from Swans manager Kenny Jackett has been in the pipeline for some time.

The former QPR assistant boss first showed an interest in McLeod several weeks ago and a structured deal worth up to £100,000 was discussed.

That would have been funded by an FA Cup fifth round tie had Swansea beaten Reading.

Their defeat in a replay has led to a significantly lower offer being tabled, but McLeod will be allowed to leave if he can agree personal terms.

McLeod last week snubbed a move to Chester, who offered £100,000 with a further £25,000 based on appearances.

And over the weekend, Rangers learned that an attempt to offload McLeod to Bristol City in exchange for midfielder Tom Doherty had failed.

Ian Holloway is desperate to sign Doherty in order to move Kevin Gallen up front.
