After being beaten 2-1 at Upton Park on Saturday, Ian Holloway gave his side a huge boost in confidence by saying "I'm so proud of my team".

Ollie was delighted with the weekend's performance and the way the R's have started the Championship season, regardless of the result.

Marlon Harewood netted two goals, one from the penalty spot, either side of Kevin McLeod's equaliser, to lift the Hammers above Rangers in the table.

Speaking to the official website, Ollie said:

""I'm so proud of my team, I feel we've improved but today I felt as though we wanted to walk before we could run. We wanted to get the ball down and pop it about, but it wasn't that sort of game.

"We've earned the right to play in this division. To come to a place like this is brilliant and we're enjoying it and I was very entertained by my team today, especially when you think it's the first time at this standard for a lot of them.

"I know where I want us to be at the end of the season, but I'm keeping that to myself. People ask about us 'hanging in there' but I don't think we're hanging any where."

The defeat drops Rangers down to sixth in the table, a point behind West Ham in fifth.

Next weekend's opponents, table topping Wigan Athletic suffered there first defeat of the season, going down 2-0 at home to Plymouth.

Was it down to the "Manager of the Month curse" which Paul Jewell (Wigan manager) won last week?
