Manager Ian Holloway says he wants to stay at Queens Park Rangers after guiding them into the First Division.

"All I can say is I don't want to go anywhere. If these people are happy with what I've done I'm prepared to sit down and talk with them," he said.

"Over half that team - and the manager - have not been given a new contract.

"The club is more important than any individual but a lot of work needs to be done to secure that squad and I'd be delighted to be the man to do it."

Holloway has paid tribute to the club's supporters after helping him bolster his squad at critical moments in the season.

"It's been been very difficult but I've have had so much support from our fans," he added on BBC London 94.9.

"They've clubbed together and given us some money. We had some terrible injuries and every time we've had a bit of a knock people have come in and we've been able to beg steal and borrow people.

"But the squad we've managed to get together is one I'm proud of. They've worked hard for each other and worn those famous hooped shirts with pride."

The R's manager's post-match quips have become part of QPR folklore and he added another to the list when asked about what promotion meant to him.

"It's like when I was a kid waiting for santa to turn up worried whether I'd been good enough," Holloway said.

"To then see he has and he's given you a few toys - this is even better than that feeling.

"That excitement and exhilaration when you open the door and can see the presents - this is even better than that."
