OLLIE TARGETS LANGLEY RETURN

Rumours are rife amongst ‘people in the know’ who seem convinced Langley is on his way back to Loftus Road for a cut-price deal in the region of £100,000.

Cardiff’s financial situation (thought to be near extinction) means Langley, one of the higher earners, is free to leave if a deal can be brokered between the club’s.

Although Holloway never saw eye-to-eye with the 25-year old he is keen to bolster his squad for the new season and add quality to the ranks.

When asked about the possibility of Langley retuning to W12 a few weeks ago, Holloway claimed it would “be nice to have him back” but denied any move had been made to sign the player.

However, now Lennie Lawrence has left Ninian Park, the Welsh club are believed to be trying to start negotiations with Rangers and a deal is close.

Langley signed for the Bluebirds for £250,000 back in August 2003 after the Welsh side won promotion to the Championship over Rangers, thanks to an extra-time winner from Andy Campbell at the Millennium Stadium.

At the time, Langley- a firm favourite with the Loftus Road faithful, declared the move purely financial on the club’s part. He was happy to stay but money forced him to leave with Cardiff the only interested party.

An unhappy two years followed in which the Cardiff boo-boys were constantly on the Jamaican international’s back. Playing on the right and sometimes left sides of midfield, he never found the form that peaked whilst playing in London.

Hull City and Plymouth are both rumoured to be looking into a possible deal but Langley is known to favour a move back home,
