Ollie remains upbeat

Ian Holloway was upbeat following the match against Brentford, which saw his Rangers side relinquish a first half lead to share the points at Griffin Park.

The Rangers manager was pleased with his side endeavour in what always promised to be a fiery affair, and thought his side faired well in hostile conditions.

“We knew it was going to be a bit scrappy and I think we looked a little bit too comfortable with a one goal lead.

“However, I think generally, on the whole, it could have gone either way – but I thought it was going to go our way today.”

Bringing Paul Furlong into the starting line up allowed Ollie to play Gallen in a deeper role, and the Rangers Manager was pleased with his sides execution of the formation, although he admitted after the game that the loss of Kevin McLeod just before kick off through illness, disrupted his plans.

“He wasn’t well on Thursday and his little boy has been sick as well. Kevin is a key part of how we were going to play today. He provides the width and the speed down the left. But to his credit, Eric Sabin came on and did well today.”

Overall, the Rangers Boss was pleased with his side’s performance, but was less than happy with some of the treatment his side was given as they left the ground.

“It was an emotional and passionate affair. Some of the things they threw at us on the way off the pitch wasn’t right. I think football is about supporting your team – not hating the other – and having a beer together after the game.

"We’ve got ourselves ahead again – and ended up sharing the points. We have an awful long way to go – I would have liked three points, but I think on today’s performance it was probably a fair result
