No-go for Melzack

The bid involved raising money via a bond secured against the club's Loftus Road ground, made publically aware by the Winton's this week — and this seems to be the reason why the Melzack bid has been thrown out.

The Melzack group thought they were near to clinching a deal with Wright, but the deal put forward by Melzack's backer, JR Ivan, has failed to convince Wright to sell, as the Winton's predicted.

The Winton's suggested they could have put forward a similar deal to Melzack's — but with QPR people behind them instead of businessmen. If they thought it wasn't a sensible way of doing things, Melzack really has been wasting his time.

Chris Wright now has just over two months to find new owners for QPR. Something will be sorted out I'm sure — Wright will never allow QPR to fold. Its almost an impossibility anyway with the high value of the stadium and land being QPR's security, but hopefully it will not have to reach that stage.
