Murray on trial at Southampton

Murray, whose time at Loftus Road has been plagued by injury, was on a week to week contract with QPR but is now serving a notice period.

Rangers boss Ian Holloway did want to keep the 24-year-old at Loftus Road. He said: "Unfortunately, we can't offer Paul a new contract at the moment due to the financial situation. It's a great shame because Paul is a talented boy with an exceptional character.

I get on very well with Paul and wish I could add him to the squad, but at the moment he's looking at other options."

Meanwhile, new Bristol Rovers boss Gerry Francis has completed the signings of Ross Weare and Alvin Bubb, whilst Michel Ngonge is on trial at Motherwell.
