LANGLEY MOVE UNLIKELY

Ollie has given a statement saying he is “a million miles away” from signing Langers after admitting he did make a cheeky move to sign the former Hoop.

Ollie said:

'Rich is still Cardiff's player at the moment and I think he will still be Cardiff's player next season.

'Cardiff owe us money for Rich because he has played so many games for them.

'I did make a cheeky phone call to them asking if they wanted to pay the money they owe us or do they want to give us Rich back instead.

'He is on a lot more money at Cardiff than he was on at QPR so that's going to be a problem for us. We're a million miles away from signing him.

'If you want to talk percentages, the chances of us signing Rich are 20 per cent. That's not very optimistic, is it?

'He's on very good wages at Cardiff and he's got another year to go there. We can't pay what he's getting at Cardiff.

'Rich may come here if he thinks Cardiff will go bust and he wants to get out before that happens, although personally I think they will be quite strong next season.

'I don't think Rich will be wearing the blue and white hooped shirt. I wouldn't bet on that happening.

'It's all down to finances. Cardiff took him because they can pay him a lot more money than we can.

'I'm pursuing other targets which are better value for money. I've got other options and I believe in moving forward.'

'If Cardiff are prepared to pay some of Rich's wages then they will have to pay half for him to come here.

'Even if Rich agreed to a 50 per cent pay cut, I'm not sure signing a player who is taking a big drop in wages would be good business. I want to bring in positive people with positive attitudes.

'Anyway, he might view coming back to QPR as a backwards move.

'I didn't want to lose him but he was going into the final year of his contract and he would have been able to leave on a dreaded Bosman at the end of it

'Unless you work with him, you won't appreciate the type of footballer he is. He is very temperamental but he has qualities we haven't got in our side and his dead-ball play is exceptional.

'But I don't think QPR signing him is going to happen. I hope it does - but I don't think it will.'

Langley himself refused to comment on a move back to West London despite the rumours. He preferred to explain his current situation at Cardiff saying briefly:

'It's nice that Ian still rates me as a player but I've got another year left here and that's all I'm thinking about.’

There are rumours circulating today however that Richard Langley was seen entering Loftus Road at 9am.

MAD-RUMOUR-RATING: 2/10 Ollie said himself there’s only a 20% chance of him signing but we still believe there’s more to this ongoing saga than what we’ve heard so far!

Elsewhere, former Rangers target Sam Parkin is discussing a move to four Championship sides. Brighton, Norwich, Ipswich and Watford have all been in contact with Parkin’s club (Swindon) and a move looks imminent.

Rangers have withdrawn from the race after signing Stefan Moore last week.

QPR MAD will bring you up-to-date with all the going’s on at the club throughout the summer including a report on the new fixtures due to be announced soon. Stay tuned!
