Ipswich Confirm Talks

Joe Royle has confirmed to the Ipswich official website that Georges Santos' representatives are in discussions with QPR about the defender's possible move to Loftus Road.

There was widespread speculation that Rangers manager Ian Holloway had contacted the player to see whether the player would be interested in playing his trade in W12. Santos and his advisors agreed to talk to Rangers despite the interest from Steve Cotterill's Burnley, and Town have today confirmed the R's are also interested in taking the former Marseille apprentice to the club.

Royle said:
"Georges' representatives are talking to QPR today and we will see how things go from there.
"We have cover at the back with Richard Naylor, Drissa Diallo and Jason De Vos and young Aidan Collins and Gerard Nash are coming through so it's an area we have depth in already."

Santos made 36 appearances for Town after signing last summer. He is available on a free transfer and has also had brief spells at Grimsby, Sheffield United and Tranmere.
