ICT 1-1 Rangers

"Caley" took the lead in the first half thanks to a beauty from Steven Hislop but in a match of few clear chances it was Rangers who came away the happier in their final tour game of Scotland.

Cureton struck in the 78th minute to level the scores after a Martin Rowlands corner ended in a goal-mouth scramble, resulting in the tiny striker poking the ball home. Curo could have equalised moments before after good work from Kevin McLeod down the left saw the former Reading striker’s effort tipped over by the Caley keeper.

It was Caley who deserved the lead at half time after a dominating display but the Superhoops came out in the second half eager to bite back in a hard fought match. Ian Holloway fielded a strong first half line-up before altering the side for the second interval. Trialist Luke Hamilton was joined by former Nottingham Forest centre half Jon Hjelde as second half substitutes the latter replacing Terrell Forbes.

Hjelde (31) player 175 times for Forest between 1997 and 2003 after moving from his homeland club Rosenborg (Norway) for £600,000.

The Norwegian is currently without a club after being released by Jamie Cureton’s former Korean club Busan Icons.

Ollie praised the trialist after the game who slotted in well in the heart of the defence. Speaking to the official website he said:

"He made a very promising start and he clearly wants to play for us having made the effort to get himself up here. We know him because he played with Jamie Cureton at Busan and we'll see where we go from here."

But Ollie was also full of praise for his side, speaking directly after the game he said:

"I was delighted with the performance. We started off a bit sluggish, but that is to be expected given that they're a couple of weeks ahead of us in terms of fitness.
But we had the better of the second half and although they had scored a fantastic goal it didn't phase us.
After half time we just got better and better and I am very satisfied with what I've seen today.

And the boss also spoke of his pride to see so many visiting supporters.

"I would like to thank the fans for taking time out to come up here and get behind the lads. It is greatly appreciated by us all."
