Rangers have agreed terms with Arthur Gnohere and his representatives and the player has now put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal.

Gnohere has passed his medical and signs in time to be registered for tomorrow night's game against Peterborough.

Ian Holloway and Chief Executive David Davies spent yesterday morning at the Twyford Avenue Training Ground and agreement was reached which has now seen the Burnley centre back confirmed as a Rangers player.

Gnohere arrives on an initial free transfer, although a small fee will be paid depending on promotion and player appearances.

Chief Executive David Davies confirmed that the deal was only able to take place thanks to the generosity of a supporter who wishes to remain nameless.

He said: "The funds have been provided by a fan and without his involvement, this deal would not have taken place.

"I cannot stress enough how grateful everyone at the Club is for this remarkable act of generosity."

This will be the Frenchman's 'second coming' to the club following a loan spell in the Autumn that saw him turn out seven times in the blue and white hoops.

He arrived then as cover for the absent Clarke Carlisle and this time comes in as a direct replacement for the injured Dan Shittu.

Gnohere has played 92 times for the Clarets having joined them from French side Caen in 2001. He will become Rangers' second signing of the week, following the arrival of Richard Johnson on Tuesday.
