Gnohere stays put says Ternant

BURNLEY boss Stan Ternent has slammed suggestions that Arthur Gnohere is set to join QPR.

French defender Gnohere was widely reported to be set to leave for Rangers for the second time this season, following a loan spell back in September.

However, Ternent insisted no such move was on the cards given the shortage of defenders at his disposal.

He said: "I can categorically state that Arthur Gnohere will not be joining Queens Park Rangers.

"I have no idea where these reports come from, but to my knowledge, there is absolutely nothing in it."

Rangers boss Ian Holloway has made no secret of his admiration for Gnohere and previously expressed an interest in taking the 25-year-old on a permanent basis.

However, with only three specialist centre halves on the books, including David May and Mark McGregor, Burnley would be risking more defensive danger if they were to allow the Ivory Coast-born stopper to move south.
