Gino keen to soldier on

The popular Argentine has been nursing a knee problem for some time and admits his recent performances have been poor.

But Padula said: "I really want to keep playing - I don't want to stop. I hope to play in every game.

"I have been playing at about 60% but I am okay. I have been to see a specialist and I think the knee will now get better. It's improving."

Padula's dip in form is the first he has suffered since establishing himself in the Rangers first-team last season.

"I am very unhappy with myself because in the last few games I have not played well at all," he admitted.

At the moment, we're asking too few people to do too much

QPR manager Ian Holloway

"I have made mistakes and not been at my best. I know the fans will be disappointed but I want to stay in the team and start playing well again.

"All players I suppose play below their best sometimes. I have to get back to playing like I was before.

"It is terrible that we have lost two league games in a row but we're still second and can do better, and I want to be part of the team."

Padula is one of several R's players to have performed badly in recent weeks and boss Ian Holloway is keen to add to his squad.

He has been looking to complete the signing of Burnley defender Arthur Gnohere, who had a spell on loan at Loftus Road this season

"Some of my team look well short of their early season form," said Holloway.

"At the moment, we're asking too few people to do too much."
