Furs who has been in blistering form this season netted his tenth goal of the campaign against Millwall on Tuesday night and speaking of his superb form had this to say:

"It's great to have picked up this award, especially after having won the Evening Standard's player of the month in September as well.
"I'm still enthusiastic about playing and scoring and I can't believe how well it's going so far this season. There was a lot of expectation on the team after winning promotion last year and people weren't sure how we would do, but it's all going really well."

Despite being plastered in applause, Furlong was also keen to praise the role of his team-mates.

"Obviously I'm pleased with the goals that I'm scoring, but I'm happier that the results seem to be going our way as a team.
"There are so many people who play a part in the team's performance. We've got a great manager in the driving seat and wonderful staff. We really do work hard in training and leave no stone unturned."

The award is voted for by all visitors to the PFA’s official website (www.givemefootball.co.uk) and saw the 36-year old striker romp away with the accolade.

Furlong will now go head-to-head with all the other Championship monthly winners to decide who is the PFA Championship Fans Player Of The Season, so come May-get voting for FURLONG!

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Wade Elliott (Bournemouth) and Adam Barrett (Southend United) also picked up awards in their respected divisions.
