Forbes Signs Short Term Deal

Terrell Forbes has signed a month-to-month contract with Rangers as Ian Holloway looks to ease the defensive crisis which has gripped the club over the summer. Forbes was initially released along with Steve Palmer at the beginning of the summer, Clarke Carlisle left to join Leeds and Danny Shittu is still recovering from ligament damage leaving the boss with very few options at the back.

Forbes, a player of the year two years ago fell into trouble last season when being linked and accused of a rape incident. His form dipped as the player struggled to come to terms with the accusations. Ollie decided not to offer the 23-year old a new deal, leaving him surplus to requirements. Kenny Jackett at Swansea expressed an interest but no formal offer was made.

Since the player has been unable to find a new club he began pre-season training with Rangers again early last week. Ollie moved to sign the former West Ham trainee after being frustrated in the transfer market. It is thought that Forbes’ utility to play as a right-back or centre-back was behind the thinking in signing the player on a short-term deal. QPR MAD revealed the story early last week after news that Ollie failed to sign Chelsea’s youngster Robert Huth was released.

Forbes is currently on tour with the Rangers squad in Scotland on tour and has been handed the number 19 jersey for the new season.
