Fitness Boost For Hoops

"Wild Thing" has only made two appearances this season, in the opening day draw at home to Rotherham and away at Sunderland on August 14th before niggling injuries affecting his groin and knee took over, making it an unhappy 3 months for the 31-year old.

But after regaining lost fitness in training for the past fortnight and having suffered no further setbacks, the former Wimbledon winger is fit to return to full action for this weekend’s derby clash at West Ham.

Jamie Cureton and Danny Shittu have been training this week too and have had no adverse reactions to their recent injuries.

Ollie will wait until tomorrow before making any decision on the duo making any involvement on Saturday.

Marc Bircham and Georges Santos missed training this morning but both are expected to be fit despite their respected knee and Achilles problems.

There’s not such good news for Martin Rowlands however. The Irish international is to go under the spotlight of the specialists after physio Prav suspected a broken bone in his foot.

If there is such damage the versatile midfielder could be out of action for anything from four to six weeks plus!

Marcus Bignot is suspended for the clash after picking up five yellow cards this season and Nicky Culkin (knee), Richard Edghill (hamstring) and Arthur Gnohere (knee ligaments) make up the injured party.

Elsewhere, Jack Perry has been released by the R’s following his return from a loan spell with Raith Rovers.
