Coventry v Rangers. Match preview

QPR are once again likely to be without midfielder Gavin Mahon when they travel to face Coventry at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday evening.

Mahon has missed the last three games with a medial knee-ligament problem and is unlikely to be risked, especially with Mikele Leigertwood performing so well in his absence.

Leigertwood cracked a superb double in Sunday's stirring 3-0 win over Stoke and will keep his place alongside Martin Rowlands in the engine room.

Luigi De Canio is unlikely to make too many changes to his side, but he will choose two from Patrick Agyemang, Rowan Vine and Dexter Blackstock in attack.

Winger Gareth Ainsworth got a late run-out as a substitute following a back injury and will hope to be on the bench again.

Coventry boss Chris Coleman will recall midfield duo Michael Doyle and Stephen Hughes.

Doyle is available after completing a three-match ban and Hughes has recovered from concussion, and Coleman is almost certain to hand the pair starting roles.

The duo's availability is a major boost to Coleman as he seeks to engineer an upturn in fortunes at the Ricoh Arena.

The former Fulham boss, who has no other concerns, is facing a fight to keep the club in the Championship.

His reign began with a 2-0 home win over neighbours Leicester but Coventry have since been subjected to away defeats at Burnley and Scunthorpe.

Coleman said: "We have got a lot to improve on and we have got 12 games to do that."
