The suspension has raised doubts over Briatore's future at Loftus Road because the Football League have a rule that owners be a 'fit and proper person'.
"The Football League chairman, Lord Mawhinney, has today written to the FIA to request further details of its decision," a spokesman for the Football League has said.
"Thereafter, the League will consider its position on the matter."
