Marc Bircham insists he wants to stay at QPR despite being linked with a move to Sheffield United.
Bircham played a key role in helping Rangers win promotion back to Division One and is a lifelong fan of the club.
He is one of 14 players out of contract at Loftus Road and has yet to sign a new deal.
But he said: "I want to stay. Everyone knows that. Hopefully the board can sort it out."
QPR chief executive David Davies insists contract talks with players and manager Ian Holloway will begin this week.
