Will You Go To...

A familiar trip for some, Prenton Park is a pain to get to, especially by rail seeing as it now takes nearly four hours from Euston to Liverpool Lime Street by Virgin on a Saturday, and it's not as if your journey ends there.

How much to get in? £15.00 adults, £.8.00 OAPs, £3.00 juns.

Allocation? Seats only, up to 2,500 in the away end — affectionately known by Tranmere fans as the Cowshed. It's a modern stand with unobstructed views.

Nearest station? Rock Ferry and Birkenhead Central on the grotty Mersey rail, which are served by Liverpool Lime St. Both stations are 15-20 minutes walk from the ground.

Going by car? Being a bank holiday weekend, the motorways will be busier than normal, so allow plenty of time. Exit the M56 at J4, after overcoming the M6.

Feeling thirsty? There's only a couple of pubs near the ground and you should be made to feel welcome at both — The Mersey Clipper and The Prenton Park. Alternatively, if coming by train you may wish to delay getting grubby on the Mersey Rail and stay in the city centre for as long as possible — a Yates and a Wetherspoons are only a five minute walk away from Lime Street.
