Can Peacock be replaced?

Its by no means the end of Gavin's QPR career, but judging by his excellent form pre-season, it has come as quite a blow, especially as all of Ian Holloway's team selections have been based around him.

It leaves QPR short of players in midfield, with Richard Langley now expected back in December, and Stuart Wardley currently out of action with a thigh strain.

Still, we shouldn't begrudge Peacock one last go at Premiership football. He's been a great servant to QPR, and had he left the club at the end of last season, not many fans would have been that bothered after a poor season last time around. Yet his transformation in pre-season has been remarkable, and he will prove to be a very difficult player to replace.

Elsewhere, Keith Rowland has joined Chesterfield, signing a two year contract with the Spireites, whilst Danny Maddix is shortly expected to put pen to paper at Sheffield Wednesday, having spent the entire pre-season on trial.
